The Chinese Information Centre (CHIC) aims to provide culturally approiate health information service and to provide links between statutory services and the Chinese Community in Greater Manchester.
The Chinese Health Information Centre was established in 1987 to improve the access of health service among the Chinese communities in Manchester and the North West, and to tackle health inequalities. It is a well established community based centre and the only health information centre which serve a large Chinese population in Manchester and its surrounding areas. Language barrier and the lack of understanding of the NHS health services have led to many Chinese People experiencing difficulty in accessing mainstream health services.
