On 26th April 2011, CHIC held a community health talk about ‘Gastrointestinal Disorders(GD)’ at Wu Kau Tang Chinese Overseas Association. Dr. Roy Lie used fluent Cantonese to deliver the causes and symptoms of GD, which also included detailed explanations of esophageal, stomach and different part of bowel cancers. This health talk attracted 58 people; this included 20 people from the Sum Yin Chinese Women Association from Blackpool.

30th April 2011 Community Health Walk to Wythenshawe Park, 26 people took part including parents and children.

Debdale Country Park Walk For Older People over 65+ on 15^th April 2011. Free transport was provided and in total 20 people took part.

On the 13th April 2011, a health talk about ‘Urological Diseases (including bladder and prostate Cancer)’ was held in Little Yang Sing Restaurant. Dr Wai Man Chow, Consultant of Urology, was invited to be the main speaker. He spoke in Cantonese to explain the symptoms, causes, treatment and prevention of urological diseases including bladder and prostate cancer. This gave the audience an opportunity to ask the Consultant questions and receiving satisfying answers. In total 33 people attended the talk.
