Bury Market Tour on 15th January 2014
On Wednesday, 15th January 2014, CHIC arranged a short tour to Bury Market for the Chinese older people aged over 65. The afternoon was led by two staff members and they had fish and chips for lunch inside the Market. Then the elders walked around the Market, they were fascinated when they saw the many different kinds of seafood and fresh fish. The fish stall owner and his staff were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of the Chinese over buying fish. They not only gave the elders a warm friendly serving and unexpectedly they generously offered the elders free salmon heads and fish bones for making delicious soup; thus surprise the elders unexpectedly with joy, making the occasion unforgettable
2014年1月15日週三庇利市場一遊
華人醫務諮詢中心為70歲以上華人長者安排到庇利市場(Bury Market) 作人員先領長者們在街市亨用魚条午膳,之後在街市周圍逛逛,到了魚市場時長者們非常開心和特別著迷見到許多不同種類的海鮮和新鮮魚。魚檔老闆和他的工作人員看到中國人如此狂熱地購買魚,非常之感動。們不僅熱情招待長者們並特別優惠贈送三文魚頭和魚骨熬湯給長者們製作美味的湯,令長者們意外惊喜及留下深刻的印象。

Shirley He described in detail the importance of preventing falls, causes of falls and consequences of falling. She stressed that it is very important to wear suitable shoes, attend eye checks every year, exercise daily and have a clean environment at home to prevent falls. The elderly needs to be aware of weather changes, personal safety, and their diet and to have regular health checks.
是日由林姑娘主講。她詳細講解預防跌倒的重要性、跌倒的原因及和跌倒的後果。她強調要穿著合適的鞋、每年定期做眼部檢查、每天鍛煉身體及一定要安全的環境以防止跌倒是很重要的。老年人需要注意天氣變化、個人安全、主意飲食習慣及定期做健康檢查。

This talk was given by Dr. Nai Chi Chan from Macau Society of Haematology and Oncology. He described in detail the causes; work up, diagnosis, procedures and treatment of anaemia in Cantonese. He also discussed the importance of having a healthy diet.
是日由澳門血液腫瘤科醫學會會長-陳迺志醫生主講。他用廣東話詳細講解貧血的原因、診斷程序、治療及護理。他還強調健康飲食的重要性。

Shirley gave the talk in Cantonese and had group discussions on how to prevent falls and tips for keeping healthy in winter. She stressed to the group that they must wear appropriate clothing, wear flat shoes and must have a flu vaccination when provided. They must be aware of the weather changes, their health, food intake and their safety.
是日由林姑娘主講。她用小組討論的型式討論何預防跌倒和冬季保持健康的秘訣。她強調他們要必須穿合適的衣服、穿平底鞋及一定要接受流感疫苗。他們必須了解天氣的變化、他們的健康、食物攝入量及他們的安全。

CHIC organized a health talk about ‘Physical and emotional health for middle age women’. This talk was delivered by Professor Suk Lan Tang (Chinese Herbal Practitioner) in Mandarin. She talked in details the types of problems women could have along with their symptoms, and the traditional Chinese medicine used to solve these problems. She shared the five tips for the middle age women to keep physically and emotionally healthy which were healthy eating, be positive, relax, go outdoors regularly and have a healthy sex life. Professor Tang also provided one to one consultation with the audience.
是晚由湯淑蘭教授 – 中醫師用普通話主講。她長細講解類型中年婦女問題及症狀,並用中國傳統醫學來解決這些問題。她分享了中年婦女的五種技巧保持身體和情緒健康,健康飲食、是積極的、放鬆心情、定期去戶外及並有健康的性生活。湯教授還提供一對一的諮詢與觀眾。
