“Looking after your Health through a Healthy Diet” workshop at the Wu kau Tang Overseas Chinese Association on 3rd February 2010. Trainers of this workshop were: Sue Curtis ( Senior Dietitian from Manchester Diabetes Centre), and Sahra Mohamed – Community Health Trainer from NHS Manchester. In total 20 people attended.

“Walking To Health Self Help Group” led by CHIC volunteers had X’mas party on 10th December 2009 at the KwokMan Restaurant.

1st December 2009, Hepatitis B & C Awareness health talks were given in English by and Ms. Siobhan Fahey, Programme Manager of Greater Manchester NHS PCT. Cantonese interpretation was provided by Shirley He. The talks attracted 38 Chinese and among whom 25 came from the Wai Kwan Chinese Women Society of Bangor, North Wales.

Dr. Roy Lie gave a health talk in Cantonese on “Aches & Pains” on 24th November 2009. Over 40 Chinese people attended.

A two day events were held in response to raise awareness of WMHD.An half day Introduction Mental Health Workshop was held at CHIC on the 10th Oct. 2009 and more than 17 people including staff, volunteers and members of the local Chinese community attended. An out-door Mental Health Awareness was held on 11th Oct. 2009 at Chinatown Manchester. A wide range of bi-lingual mental health information stall was set up and over 500 copies mental health leaflets were distributed. 50 passers -by visited the stall and 12 people received free blood pressure check.
